Everyday Natural Makeup Tutorials

The natural makeup look is perfect for your simple, everyday wear, and with summer here, it is definitely a trick you want to have up your sleeve!

The natural makeup tutorials below will show you how to do makeup like the pros while looking effortless.

Natural Makeup | Golden Glow
If you are seeking that subtle glow, this natural makeup look is for you.

1. After cleansing, moisturizing and prepping the skin apply Nars Sheer Glow Foundation.
2. Apply a mineral based concealer under the eyes and cover any areas of redness.
3. Before applying a light-weight setting powder to the t-zone only, use your finger to dab a touch of Mac Pink Rebel Skin Finish (2) over high planes of the face such as the bridge of the nose, top of the cheekbones and inner eye area.
4. Lightly Buff on Mac Cream Blusher in Ladyblush over the cheekbones.
5. Define your eyebrows softly with a powder brow product like the HD Brow Palette in ‘Bombshell’
6. Prep the lid with Mac Paint in Bare Canvas (5) and follow with a sweep of Mac Honesty eyeshadow (6) blended into the crease of the eye.
7. A very defining mascara was used – something with a smaller and thinner wand such as Max Factor’s Masterpiece Mascara would recreate the effect perfectly. But notice the ends. Individual false lashes were definitely used to create a soft but pretty lift in the outer corners.
8. Lips are kept really soft – the look is almost lip tone like. Try Laura Mercier’s Lip Tint in Shy Girl (8) for a barely there natural finish.

How to Do Makeup Like Lauren Conrad
If there is anyone who rocks the natural makeup look, it is fashionista Lauren Conrad.

1. Start by applying a good and highly-recommended primer, like Laura Mercier’s Hydrating Primer, to a clean face.
2. Next, apply Becca’s Luminous Skin Colour Foundation in the areas that need more even skin tone.
3. Once you have your base, carefully apply concealer in the areas where you need to cover redness and blemishes.
4. Use Ben Nye‘s colorless powder to set your base, which gives you a lovely and even skin tone.
5. A matt bronzer in a warm tone will give you Lauren’s natural-looking sun-kissed and glowing complexion. Apply this to your forehead, cheeks and chin.
6. Apply Laura Mercier’s Chambord very lightly across the lid and blend in the crease to make it soft, then take a small amount of your bronzer and apply to the crease of the eye to balance.
7. Use a gel eyeliner from Maybelline in black, and apply using a flat liner brush.
8. Finally, to get Lauren’s full and beautifully shimmering lips apply Becca’s Laelia in Peach Nude!

Everyday Makeup | Natural Lashes

1. Build thickness at the root by smudging gel or cream eyeliner as close to the lash line as possible.
2. Curl and separate. A few key pumps of the eyelash curler will do wonders for lashes, with or without mascara. After crimping, comb through eyelashes to separate and fan out your fringe.
3. Dust loose shadow on eyelashes for the final bit of mascara-free fullness. The powder will grab on to the eyelashes creating natural volume.

Everyday Look: 10-Minute Drugstore Makeup Tutorial

This natural everyday look takes 10 minutes and features your favorite drugstore makeup. Keep on reading to get the step-by-step guide to this fresh look!
10-Minute Drugstore Makeup Tutorial

Okay, yes, us choosing this tutorial was because it was another excuse to stare at Eman’s ridiculously gorgeous face and hear her sweet voice, but this look also happens to be absolutely beautiful and inexpensive (two words we love hearing in the same sentence).

Using only drugstore products, Eman creates a rosy, youthful look that features flushed cheeks, a pink lip and groomed brows. This makeup is perfect for days when you need to be somewhere in a flash, are looking for a look that will take years off your face or don’t have the energy to apply a full face of makeup.

Scroll down for the step by step guide.

Step 1
Let’s start with priming our skin. The beautiful and talented Eman uses Nyx Cosmetics Soft Focus Primer.

Step 2
After priming, move on to the foundation. The drugstore foundation used here is Maybelline Soft Matte Dream Velvet Hydrating Foundation in Medium Beige.

When it comes to applying foundation, I like to do it with a good ol’ foundation brush, but feel free to use a Beauty Blender, your fingers, or whatever tool you feel most comfortable working in.
This foundation is supposed to be velvety and hydrating, making it perfect for dry skin. image via EMAN

Step 3
Now that your foundation is ready to go, let’s apply concealer. The concealer used in this tutorial is L’Oreal Magic Lumi Highlighter/Concealer.

Apply a generous amount under your eyes, down the bridge of your nose and under your cheekbones.

Don’t forget to blend!

Step 4
It’s on to the eyebrows with Nyx Sculpt & Highlight Brow Contour pencil. Fill in your brows as you normally would.
This brow pencil is smooth to apply and will keep those brows in place. image via EMAN

Step 5
Once those brows are on fleek, grab your Wet N’ Wild Ticket to Brazil bronzer and lightly apply it along your cheekbones.
Now it’s time to warm up the face with some bronzer. image via EMAN
Lightly apply it on the apples of the cheeks. image via EMAN

Step 6
With the other side of your Nyx Brow Sculpt pencil, take the highlighter and apply it on the inner corner of the eyes and under the brows’ arch.

Step 7
With the same bronzer you used on your face, apply it in your eye’s crease to give your eyes shape and definition.

Step 8
Let’s move on to the cheeks. The blush used in this tutorial is Neutrogena Cheek Blusher in Vibrant 20. Lightly dust the apples of the cheeks for a flush of color.
This blush will give you a natural flush. image via EMAN

Step 9
After blush, curl the lashes and apply Maybelline Colossal Mascara.

Pro Tip: a trick to applying falsies is cutting the strip in half and apply the outer half first and then the inner half. Both halves will overlap, but the finished result will look natural. Even when you look down.

Step 10
Apply mascara on the bottom lashes.
Carefully add mascara on the bottom lashes to even out the eyes. image via EMAN

Step 11
Line the lips with L’Oreal Lip Liner in Timeless Coral.

Step 12
Go over it with Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid in Nude Flush. If you’d like, you can go over your lipstick with L’Oreal Pro Gloss in Coral Sands.

7 Spring Makeup Looks To Inspire You

Over nudes and smokey eyes? Add a fresh, bright touch to your repertoire with these spring makeup looks!

7 Spring Makeup Looks To Inspire You

There’s no doubt that spring is the season for bright, fresh new looks. With pastel and soft makeup all the rage on Instagram and YouTube, it can be hard to find inspiration for new spring looks that are work-appropriate and exciting.

If you’ve found yourself in a creative rut as of late, these spring makeup looks will be the source of inspiration you desperately crave.

Keep on scrolling for 7 looks that are perfect for spring.

1. Soft Pink Makeup
One of spring’s most notorious colors is pink. The bubbly, bright color makes reminds us of the beautiful flowers budding all over the world. A soft pink look is perfect for date nights or on days when you want something simple.

2. Sunset Copper Eye Makeup
Copper, bronze and gold are sure to be a hit this spring despite the common notion that these colors are reserved for late summer or fall. What I especially love about this combination is that they’re buildable. You can opt for a subtle copper look during the day and transition to a nighttime look with some gold or chocolate brown shimmer.

3. Fresh Purple & Teal Makeup
What’s fresher than purple and teal? Nothing. This color combo makes for a fun day-to-night look.

4. Glowing Orange & Tan Makeup
This makeup combination creates a warm yet glowing look, especially when paired with an orange red lipstick. If worn during the day, opt for white liner and, if worn at night, switch it up to black.

5. Adorable Pastel Eye Makeup
Mixing all your favorite pastel colors is one way to be creative. Finish with blue mascara for a unique look and you’re ready for a bright, fun day!

Perfect Makeup: 8 Super-Easy Steps for Looking Flawless—Fast!

Step 1: Hide Dark Circles

The first step of all: Apply a moisturizer with SPF to help concealer glide on smoothly.

Then use concealer only where you need it, like on undereye circles and blemishes, advises makeup artist Ana Marie Rizzieri, who created the look in these photos. Try a creamy formula, like Laura Mercier Secret Concealer, in a shade that matches your skin tone. "Choosing a shade lighter is a myth," she says. "Too-white circles under your eyes look like you wore goggles while tanning." Apply in little stripes with a pointed concealer brush. Then blend using your ring finger for the lightest touch, and don't tug on delicate undereye areas, Rizzieri instructs.

Expert tip: To get at fine lines, use the point of your brush.

Step 2: A Touch of Base

To get perfectly even skin the speedy way, use a foundation stick.

It's easy and gives you plenty precise application. We like Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick . Try Rizzieri's technique: Using the stick like a giant marker, draw thick lines down cheekbones, the sides of your nose and above brows, and blend with your fingers. Want to look a little more sun-kissed? Before blending, use a second stick that's two or three shades darker in all the same places for a streak-free glow (it looks dark in the pictures, but we promise it melts right in). Mix both colors together over your face and down onto your neck using your fingers—the heat from your hands will warm up the foundation and help it glide.

Expert tip: Want lighter coverage? Rub moisturizer on your hands before you blend for a sheer, dewy finish.

Step 3: Reassess and Perfect!

If a pesky zit or mark is still poking through, go back and hide it with an extra layer of concealer.

Use the same kind as in step one (it worked for Alice's forehead scratch), or try a cover-up that contains salicylic acid, like Almay Clear Complexion Concealer, which helps shrink blemishes while it camouflages. Dab it onto problem areas with a pointed brush instead of slicking it on from the tube. Right on top of the blemish, "it's not meant to be totally blended in," says Rizzieri, but to avoid cakeyness, use your ring finger to pat its perimeter outward until smooth.

Expert tip: For staying power, apply powder over top with a puff to absorb oil and to keep cover-up from sliding off midday.

Step 4: Now Blush!

Forget shading and sculpting cheekbones with a brush and powder, and try a cream blush instead for that glow-from-within effect.

Apply to the apples of your cheeks, as seen here. (The fast way to find yours: Smile!) Then blend the color up toward your temples with your fingers. Our pick: (Yves Saint Laurent Creme de Blush in No. 6 Rouge Passion. Bright, bold hues like the berry shade used on our model can look natural, but if you're color-shy, build the intensity by gradually layering it on.

Expert tip: Gone overboard? Defuse a clownlike situation by applying a bit of foundation over top instead of washing it all off and starting from scratch.

Step 5: Apply Shimmery Eye Base

For pro-looking eye makeup in no time, apply a wash of sheer, shimmery cream shadow from lash lines to brow bones using your pointer finger.

Try Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadow in Copper Canyon, which comes with all the shades you need to create this look. (Bonus: Shimmer helps hide stray eyebrow hairs if you don't have time to tweeze!) If your skin is fair like our model's, try a silvery white shade. For medium to dark skin tones, opt for a champagne color instead. To get an extra bright-eyed effect, dot the color onto the inner corners of your eyes too. Celebs use this trick on the red carpet all the time, Rizzieri says.

Expert tip: If your lids tend to be on the oilier side, use a primer all over them first to help shadow last.

Step 6: Make Em Pop

Next, use bronze and gold cream shadows (both are in that same Revlon palette) to give eyes more depth.

Apply the bronze shade in your creases with a flat shadow brush for more control, and use your fingers to smudge it down over the lids—avoiding the brow bones. There shouldn't be any harsh lines or stripes of color, says Rizzieri; it should look blended and effortless. To make everything budge-proof (important with creamy formulas like these), set the cream with a matching powder eyeshadow, or dust a colorless translucent powder on top (like the kind used in step three). Then, to make eyes look even bigger, pat some gold cream shadow onto the centers of your lids and run a little along your lower lash lines with your finger or a small brush.

Expert tip: Using gold under eyes looks luminous; darker shades can draw attention to undereye circles.

Step 7: Add Some Definition

For more intensity, rim your upper lash lines with a brown liner pencil and smudge it upward with your shadow brush.

Then set with the same powder eyeshadow used in the previous step. Finish off with two coats of mascara, like Smashbox Hyperlash Mascara, on top and bottom—focusing on the outer lashes with the top of the wand. If your brows aren't as full as our model's, lightly fill in any gaps with a pencil and use a disposable mascara wand to brush the hairs up.

Expert tip: To give eyes an even bigger boost, use an eyelash curler before you apply mascara. Start as close to the roots of your lashes as possible and gently pulse the curler forward bit by bit to the ends.

Step 8: Get Lush-Looking Lips

If your lips are dry or at all chapped, gently buff with a damp washcloth and apply lip balm.

Let it sink in well, and blot with a tissue if it feels slippery. Using a strawberry-color lipstick, like Maybelline New York ColorSensational Lipstick in Very Cherry, straight from the tube, apply it to the center of your mouth (make a kissy face!), where color tends to wear off first, says Rizzieri. Blend the lipstick out over your lips, patting the color on with your fingertip to help it last. "This gives you that fresh, just-ate-a-popsicle look," she says. To amp up things for night, add a layer of gloss for extra shine.

Expert tip: Run a piece of ice over your lips before slicking on gloss to help color last all day and prevent it from bleeding. Ta-da, you're done!

HOW TO MAKE SPECIAL EFFECTS WITH EYELINER

You can create several effects using eyeliner and change the way your eyes look. You will see here the most common and beautiful looking effects and the good thing is you can try them all on you and see what suits best. Makeup is the most awesome tool for women who love to make small changes and correct their imperfections without using surgery, so let’s see what you can try out.

     Special eyeliner effects:
     1. Closer look – it will make your eyes look closer one to another. Apply a line on the top lash line and thicken the inner corner for more definition.
     2. Rounder look – will make your eyes be rounder and this goes great for small eyes, apply it to the top and bottom of the lash line and thicken only at the outer corners.
     3. Oval look – perfect if you have small and round eyes and you want to make them look more oval. Apply eyeliner on the upper lash line and thicken in the middle.
     4. Larger look – will make your eyes look bigger and lighter. Apply eyeliner to the top lash line and waterline with a lighter color.
     5. Farther look – is great when your eyes are too close and you want to create the effect that they are farther. Apply eyeliner on the upper lash line and thicken it at the outer corner of the eye.
     6. Dramatic look – is perfect to give depth to the eyes and make them look more playful.
