#1 MEANING OF OMBRE
The word “ombre” is a French word, which means “to shade”. Today ombre is popular phrase in beauty and fashion: ombre hair, ombre clothes, ombre decor, etc. This fall, ombre lips are looking fresh, new and exciting especially for the coming holiday season.
#2 CENTER LIGHT & OUTER DARK LIPS
Keep in mind these three tricks when recreating the ombre lip:1) Lip pencil is your friend. It prevents bleeding outside the lip line as well as defines the lips.
2) Generally stick to three lip color products and a lip brush.
3) Remember to follow the light, by mimicking the way light naturally hits a glossy lip in the center, AND don’t be afraid to go bold!
#3 PINK/PURPLE OMBRE LIPS
Moisturize you lips with clear lip balm before applying the lipstick to allow a smooth ombre blending of color.1) Outline the lips, using your darkest purple shade.
2) In the middle of the lips you need to apply a lighter shade.
3) Take a clean brush and carefully blend the shades until you get the ombre effect.
#4 IMPORTANCE OF CONCEALER & LIP PENCIL
Notice how makeup concealer and lip pencil liner are applied to lips as a foundation before the lip ombre color is applied? It’s the best way to keep dark shaded lips from bleeding where they shouldn’t.
#5 DARKEST PURPLE OMBRE
The darkest purple lips makes for an amazing gothic look. To get the super dark purple shade, use a wide lip liner or even purple eyeshadow pencil for lining outer lips while bringing the color in towards the center. Wear them either matte or covered over with gloss.
#6 ASYMMETRICAL OMBRE & BRUSHES
Here we have four shades of lip color, BUT what’s essential in this diagram are the three shapes of lip brushes for blending color. A pointed brush is for defining the outer lips and the rounder brushes are for shading and feathering the inner lips.
